Timberland here to help you achieve your goals

We got a call from Timberland (the boots guys from the US) the other day. They thought Project Dirt was great, loved the projects and wanted to help.

Having checked out their site and met the big man at the top – Jeff Swartz … we thought they would be a great company to work with. They like the outdoors. We like the outdoors. We’re into green. They’re into green. As a matter of fact, Greening Up is central to their core strategy – and something they take seriously. From what we’ve seen – there’s no evidence of “wash” and lots of evidence of “green.”

To spread the word, they are investing in producing green products. To channel this – their Earthkeepers range was launched. It’s all about decreasing the environmental impact of the clothing. Seems logical.

So … how to help. Well, first things first – they wanted to support projects on the Project Dirt site. They agree that grassroots action is the way forward. People doing what they think is important. Off-the-cuff activity. Hands dirty. Not waiting for anyone to tell them what to do.

They made £2,000 available to projects on the site. Great … it’s good news and nice to see a company that wants to “do well” and “do good.”

£500 will go to 4 winning projects. See the docs in the box below on how to apply:

With a large number of Food Growing projects on pd ... we thought it a good idea to have a committee member with some good food growing experience.

I'm delighted to say that Seb Mayfield - who is heading up Rosie Boycotts Capital Growth (and co-founder of Food Up Front) will therefore be joining us on the panel.

I just wanted everyone to know this ....

cheers
