Making environmental change happen

Food

Food Growing projects are fast becoming a great start for people to step into a more conscious and sustainable lifestyle. There are fantastic projects all over London, whether it’s making use of public space, front gardens, balconies or communal gardens…these projects really engage communities and bring people together.

The increase in unnecessary food miles, due to public consumption of more rare and unseasonal foods than ever, has meant that carbon emissions from the transportation of these goods is now one of the major factors affecting climate change. But if we pool together with neighbours and local residents, family and friends to grow our own food, the positive impact of eating locally will have a huge effect on the environment so spread the word!
