Welcome to the Wandsworth page on Project Dirt.
In Wandsworth, we take being green very seriously. The borough is a
hive of environmental activity. We'll upload a map shortly (on this
page) so you can see just some of the projects going on. It help
you find out about what other people are getting up to, swap ideas
and learn from each other.
We also want to tell you about some of the things the council is up
to.
We have recently launched our
Environmental Fund, which gives grants to
businesses and individuals who come up with demonstratively
effective and replicable ways to save resources. Apply by clicking
through the "Environmental Fund" link above.
Our Greener Borough initiative was set
up as an umbrella for all the different things we do to encourage
people to be more environmentally friendly. Here are just some of
them.
Residents are encouraged to take a
Green Pledge, which is a promise to make a
small change in their daily life. This could be anything from
recycling more to taking the bus to work instead of the car.
Businesses can get involved in the
Green Business Awards, which recognise
innovative and committed sustainable practices.
Our
Green Champions Competition rewards
residents and schools that make a special effort to be green. Find
out more on the
Green Champions page we’ve set up on Project Dirt.
